A recent post on SciDevNet discusses how the private sector can help in training and skill development for soybean farmers in Kenya and Zambia. The UK-funded FoodTrade East and Southern Africa (FoodTrade ESA) awarded about USD 1.2 million to two companies to help farmers improve yields, access appropriate storage solutions, and market their produce. Focused on smallholders, this capacity strengthening activity helps to address logistics and governance challenges that face farmers in developing countries.
