IFPRI's POSHAN team, in collaboration with the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, India’s premier institution for training civil services officers, conducted a short nutrition course on 6-7 August 2018, in Mussoorie (India), for District Magistrates from 32 selected Aspirational Districts of India. Purnima Menon and Rasmi Avula, along with other faculty members, convened this workshop titled ‘Stepping up to India’s nutrition challenge: The critical role of policymakers’, that gave a fresh perspective to the participants on the significance of nutrition in the overall development of these selected districts. It equipped them with further knowledge and skills to identify and address nutrition-related issues with the use of data and evidence. Through interactive diagnostic exercises for individual districts, the participants identified the key vulnerabilities and came up with their commitments and plans of action.
