Adjunct Prof. Dr. Prabhakar Tamboli was made an Honorary Alumni of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland (UMD). Dr. Tamboli designed and has been teaching International Crop Production - Challenges and Opportunities for the 21st Century for over 25 years.
For the past 20 years, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) has been working with the University of Maryland (UMD) to strengthen the capacity for research and analysis of food security issues - both locally and globally. Dr. Tamboli established the International Training Program within the College of Agriculture, in collaboration IFPRI. Through this partnership, undergraduate students in the Environmental Science and Technology Department at the University of Maryland are taught tools to analyze food security and agricultural policies. This effort is part of a core course for students taking ‘International Crop Production – Issues and Challenges of 21st century’ in the Environmental Science and Technology Department.
These are just a few of his accomplishments. He continues to work and set a high standard for us all. Congratulations to Dr. Tamboli!
