Emerta Aragie and James Thurlow conducted a virtual learning event titled “An Introduction to Economic Policy Modeling: Social Accounting Matrices and Computable General Equilibrium Models” for the Rwanda Strategy Support Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI). The event had over 30 participants from the public, private, and non-profit sectors in Kigali, Rwanda. It focused mainly on the theory behind Social Accounting Matrices and Computable General Equilibrium Models, the basics of constructing and using these tools, and how they can best be applied for effective policymaking.
