Hyacinth Edeh, Adebayo Ogunniyi, Adetunji Fasoranti, Bedru Balana, and Motunrayo Ayowumi Oyeyemi conducted a two-day refresher training for fifteen enumerators for the second phase of the assessment of the household level impacts of COVID–19 in four Feed the Future states of Nigeria. These enumerators were involved in the first phase of the study. The training focused on survey administration and technical data collection procedures/techniques using a Computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI)-Based technology. The administrative session included phone call engagement skills, questionnaire consent and review, interpretation of the questionnaire in local languages across the study area, and role plays. These ensured that all enumerators had the same understanding of each question and their associated options. The technical session of the training was mainly on the management of the data collection tools (SurveyCTO). A pretest of the survey instrument was done at the end of the two days training to validate the instrument in terms of content, language and data collection protocols before the actual survey was rolled out. The output of the pretesting helped in modifying/updating the survey instrument. Other observations and recommendations made during the training were helpful and reflected in the final questionnaire and on the SurveyCTO software.
