IFPRI designed the Transfer Modality Research Initiative (TMRI), which was implemented by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) from 2012-14. TMRI had remarkable impacts over the two-year study, some of which were sustained even after 4 years. TMRI provided the proof of concept that high quality quality nutrition behavior change communication (BCC) can accelerate reductions in stunting. In July 2021, IFPRI and WFP team anticipated that the National Social Security Strategy (NSSS) Plan of Action was being finalized in the Cabinet Division. To this end, IFPRI and WFP planned a dissemination event strategically to re-emphasize the importance of investing in BCC to inform the plan of action during an important time during the policy process. The Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC) is the apex body working on nutrition policy with relevant twenty ministries and other stakeholders. BNNC helped organize this results dissemination event on July 14, and invited mid- and high-level government officials and development partners. The BNNC Director General chaired the event. Akhter Ahmed presented 'Transfer Modality Research Initiative Design And Evaluation Results' at this event. To access related materials, please click here.
