General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) training in Pakistan

Several General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) trainings were conducted by IFPRI staff between 2018 and 2020. The details of these trainings are provided below:

1. Stephen Davies, Amna Ejaz, Saqib Shahzad, and Abdul Wajid Rana conducted a training in Oct, 2018 for staff at Punjab Economic Policy research Institute (PERI) in running econometric models for Food Outlook report. 2. Stephen Davies, Amna Ejaz, Saqib Shahzad, and Abdul Wajid Rana conducted a training in Feb, 2019 for staff at Punjab Economic Policy research Institute (PERI) on GAMS and running econometric models for Punjab Food Outlook report. 3. Stephen Davies, Amna Ejaz, Saqib Shahzad, and Abdul Wajid Rana conducted a training in Mar, 2019 for staff at Punjab Economic Policy research Institute (PERI) on Data and Econometric Forecasting Models. 4. Stephen Davies, Amna Ejaz, Saad Moeen, Zeeshan Haider, and Abdul Wajid Rana conducted a training in July 2019 for federal level agricultural stakeholders/ policy makers from Planning Commission and Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFSR), and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) on multi-market modeling. 5. Abdul Wajid Rana, Stephen Davies, Zeeshan Haider, and Saad Moeen conducted a training on running GAMS model for analyzing economic impacts of COVID-19 in May 2020 for stakeholders/ policy makers from Planning Commission and Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFSR), and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC). 6. Stephen Davies, Zeeshan Haider, Saad Moeen, Sania Haider, Noormah Rizwan and Abdul Wajid Rana conducted an introductory training on GAMS in Sept 2020  for academia and students of Balochistan University for Information Technology, Engineering & Management Sciences (BUITEMS).
