IFPRI staff conducted Capacity Strengthening Trainings in Myanmar

1. Isabel Lambrecht gave a training 'MAPSA Socio-economic Survey Design Workshop' on the design of the Myanmar Household Survey on agriculture, gender and nutrition. The training had 11 participants (6 females, 5 males) in December 2019. For more information about the trainer, please click here.
2. Isabel Lambrecht gave a training on learning how to do cognitive testing, and application to pro-WEAI in January 2020. The training had 11 participants (4 females, 2 males). For more information about the trainer, please click here.
3. Derek Headey gave a training on the design of the Myanmar Household Survey - Health and Nutrition section to observe dietary quality and nutritional status in Myanmar and integrate data on nutrition and agriculture at scale in July 2020. 4. Ian Masias gave a virtual demonstration and training of the Basecamp platform in support of developing a common platform to facilitate information sharing among the ARDSCG on the impact and response to COVID-19 in May 2020. 5. Ian Masias gave a virtual demonstration and hands-on training of the Basecamp platform, showing organization and functionality, in support of developing a common platform to facilitate information sharing among the ARDSCG on the impact and response to COVID-19 in June 2020. 7. Ian Masias conducted a training workshop on 'Impact of COVID-19 on Mechanization in Myanmar Survey' in September 2020. The workshop covered the purpose for conducting these mechanization phone surveys, the key findings from the monsoon planting season, the key questions we wish to answer, the survey questionnaire design in detail, and the next steps for these surveys. The workshop also gave participants the opportunity to comment on the survey questionnaire and help improve its design. The training had 6 participants (5 females, 1 males). 8. Brian Holtemeyer presented the Myanmar office RAs with some tips for Stata best practices in September 2020. The training had 10 participants (9 females, 1 males). For more information about the trainer, please click here.
9. Phoo Pye Zone conducted enumerator training for impact assessment of traders, millers, and mechanization service providers via phone survey in 2020. The training had 15 participants (7 females, 8 males). For more information about the trainer, please click here.

Phoo Pye Zone conducted a training for government staff from Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation on questionnaire development of phone surveys to delineate the processes of phone survey and framing research questions and developing survey questionnaire in September 2020. 11. Alejandro Nin Pratt supported work of country partners in the analysis of agricultural R&D investment and productivity (Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam) by training a group of 10 (8 females, 2 males) researchers on methods for analysis of R&D investment efficiency and allocation.
