Abdul Wajid Rana gave a Public Financial Management training to Senior Management level officers of the Federal and Provincial Governments as well as autonomous bodies in Pakistan as part of the course which is mandatory for promotion to Additional Secretary to the Federal Government or Additional Chief Secretary at the provincial level. The objectives of training were to develop understanding on i) constitutional, statutory and regulatory mechanisms in Pakistan and international best practices; ii) sharing of resources amongst three levels (federal, provincial, and local); iii) budget-making processes; (iv) managing the budget post-legislative approval; (v) legislature oversight and accountability; and (vi) public debt management. There were approximately 60 participants in the training (12 female and 48 male). The training was conducted in National Institute of Management in Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta.
