As part of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Security Policy, Research, Capacity and Influence, Kristin Davis presented a training “From Research to Policy Influence: Understanding the Policy Space” for four Centers for Policy Leadership. These included l’Institut sénégalais de recherches Agricole/Bureau d’analyses macro-économiques (Senegal); Economic Policy Research Center (Uganda); Center for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law (Nigeria); and Sokoine University of Agriculture (Tanzania). The purpose was to explore the policy space, actors, power, and dimensions of the policy process with relation to each of the four Center for Policy Leadership’s research projects. Virtual participants were based in Senegal, Uganda, USA, Kenya, and Nigeria. The training had 6 female and 12 male participants. The participants found the training very useful as they learnt about the various forms of power to change policies in specific domains (i.e. the decision-making, influencing and invisible powers).
