IFPRI-Pakistan is providing a hands-on training on Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) to the faculty members and students of Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University (Departments of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics and Management Sciences), Balochistan University for Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (Department of Economics) and Planning and Development Department, Government of Balochistan. IFPRI is collaborating with these institutions in developing a sub-national, economy-wide, Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) for Balochistan. The purpose is to build capacity in the universities on sustainable basis to support the Provincial Government to use these tools for quantitative and qualitative analysis on various policy issues which is lacking currently.
