Several Capacity Strengthening Trainings were conducted in Ghana by IFPRI staff in 2020. Below are the summaries of these training activities:
1. Catherine Ragasa and Sena Amewu conducted a Farmers' trainings on good aquacultural practices, certification, and nursery model between July-August 2020. The training had 200 male and 20 female participants. For more information, click here.
2. Several enumerator and survey trainings happened through the year:
- Carlo Azzarri, Beliyou Haile conducted a two-week training in October 2020 of experienced enumerators in Bolgatanga, Ghana, led by local survey firm staff who also oversaw the first week and a half of data collection. Activities included finalizing data collection and conducting data quality checks including random spot checks and other measures. For more information, click here.
- Carlo Azzarri, Beliyou Haile Enumerator Training for Ghana Africa RISING Follow-up Evaluation Survey 2020 in October 2020. It was two-week training of experienced enumerators in Bolgatanga, Ghana, led by local survey firm staff who also oversaw the first week and a half of data collection. - Carlo Azzarri, Beliyou Haile conducted a two-week enumerator training for Ghana IFAD REP-III evaluation survey 2020 of experienced enumerators in Accra, Ghana between February-March 2020. For more information, click here.
- Adriana Paolantonio (IFPRI Consultant), Beliyou Haile, and Carlo Azzarri conducted an IFAD Ghana household survey staff training in February 2020. The training had 36 female participants. For more information, click here.
- Pauline Castaing (IFPRI Consultant), Beliyou Haile, and Carlo Azzarri conducted an Africa RISING Ghana household survey training between October and November 2020. The training had 33 female participants. For more information, click here.
- Elodie Becquey conducted a training of enumerators for diet data collection between January-February 2020. The training had 10 male and 10 female participants. For more information, click here.
- Catherine Ragasa, Sena Amewu conducted an Enumerator training for Ghana Tilapia Seed Project's COVID-19 impact survey in June 2020. The survey involved telephone interviews of rural and urban households on the impact of COVID-19 related lockdown and restrictions on movement on farm production, incomes and food & nutrition security. - Karl Pauw, Seth Asante conducted a training of field enumerators and selected MoFA staff in February 2020. The training included 31 male and 14 female participants. For more information, click here.
- Seth Asante conducted a training for team leads/supervisors were reconvened for a training due to suspension as a result of COVID-19 in July 2020. The training had 7 male participants. For more information, click here.
