The Kenya IFPRI Learning Lab is a weekly 1-1.5 hour session on research topics that began on February 15th, 2023 and occurs every Wednesday. The goal of the learning lab is to strengthen research assistants' (RAs) skills in areas relevant to their work. The topics are flexible and based on the demand of research assistants. There are 6 female and 1 male participant. The first few sessions focused on the interpretation of regression coefficients, specifically with log terms, interaction terms, and squared terms. Other topics have been related to micro-econometrics with sessions focusing on sampling techniques, RCT design, and evaluation methods. Carole Waweru and Esther Waruingi have each led a session related to Stata coding best practices. The value of this training is through capacity building for RAs, which will lead to better work for the Kenya office. The trainings will also empower RAs to share their knowledge and help strengthen their team members. Finally, the trainings provide a platform for team building in the Kenya office.
